Batik Tulis Pasucen, Featured Traditional Cultural Heritage of the Village Facilitated by RB Rembang Semen Gresik

Rembang, May 15th, 2024 – Rumah BUMN (RB) Rembang which is managed in a co-partnership between PT Semen Gresik and its parent company PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) consistently assists and empowers Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the operational area.

Batik Tulis Pasucen, began to join since September 2023 as a mentor of RB Rembang Semen Gresik with superior products in the field of fashion (clothing) managed by PKK women and housewives from Pasucen village, Gunem District, Rembang Regency, Central Java.

The head of the Pasucen village PKK as well as the Coordinator of Batik Tulis Pasucen, Jumariyati, explained that the making of written batik uses techniques with traditional characteristic patterns inherited from the ancestors of Pasucen village.

"It is skillfully made by PKK women and households, using the typical motifs of breadfruit trees and lotuses in Pasucen batik tulis Pasucen. In accordance with history, where in Pasucen village many breadfruit and lotus trees grow," he explained.

She added that through RB Rembang Semen Gresik, Pasucen hand-written batik was included in the 2023 Central Java Fair exhibition and marketed nationally through the MSMEs digital market (Padi).

 "Alhamdulillah, since the establishment of Batik Tulis Pasucen, the highest total sales have reached 100 pcs. Hopefully, with the assistance from Semen Gresik, it can make a fortune and encourage the community," she said.

Meanwhile, Senior Manager of Communication & CSR of PT Semen Gresik, Sulistyono, said that the growth of Batik Tulis Pasucen, it strengthens the determination and commitment of the corporation to continue to support the performance and growth of MSMEs in operational areas through assistance and guidance so that they can compete in national and global markets.

"MSMEs play an important role in driving the economy in the community because they are able to support community empowerment to alleviate social problems such as unemployment by opening up jobs. The company is committed to continue supporting business progress so that it can provide benefits for the progress of the nation and state," explained Sulistyono.

Sulistyono added, since its 3 years of existence RB Rembang has recorded a total transaction of IDR 3.16 billion, with 403 MSME partners, succeeded in delivering more than 88 MSMEs to upgrade, absorbed approximately 1562 workers, and held 95 training sessions for fostered MSMEs, millennials, and the public.
